Time: 9:30 – 3:30 Duration: 6 weeks Entry Level: Intermediate and above The mission of the La Lingua TECSOL course is to provide inspiring and motivated English teachers to the world. TECSOL has grown in popularity in recent years, with more and more people choosing to follow the English teaching career path. Teaching children can be very enjoyable, but it is important to have clear pronunciation, accurate sentence structure and a broad vocabulary to be an effective teacher. In this course you can work intensively on your English skills. You will also learn the exact language you need to use, as a teacher, in the classroom. At the same time you will learn about teaching theory, child development, classroom management, lesson planning, phonics and language acquisition. This will give you the confidence you need to begin teaching English to children as a career. The course is a useful introduction to English children’s songs, chants, games, crafts, stories and activities, and suggests fun and exciting ways to use these things in your future teaching. Our small classes mean that we can provide high-quality, intensive instruction. The course also includes weekly practice classes, observations of English classes and practice teaching in local elementary schools. For those who wish to acquire a Japanese elementary school teaching qualification, a further ten hours can be studied. This additional course will provide background to teaching English in the Japanese education system, and lead to J-Shine certification. |
